Alan’s experience in organizing and grouping objects can be traced back to his childhood re-arranging furniture and playing with Girders and Panels building sets. This philosophy of alignment and order has evolved into a successful career in creating composed yet fluid spaces.
Alan’s approach to design is playful. He is generally the first to disrupt order to achieve the right experience. His strong sensibilities and perceptive understanding of how color, texture, balance, and scale connect enable him to create interiors that bring joyful experiences in unexpected and thought-provoking ways.
Building trust and relationships with his clients is essential. Alan enjoys inspiring them to think beyond their comfort zone to envision what’s possible — a practice he nurtured as a Furniture Design and Interior Design instructor in the United States and England. This also applies to the selection of materials he can customize and personalize — preferring to use local, more sustainably evolved materials and solutions that work for each project. Ultimately, Alan’s mission and passion are to create spaces personalized for each client, making them genuinely happy with the results.
