Urban Union

“While the welcoming gesture is convivial, the purpose is pragmatic: giving tenants a competitive edge, though design, and attracting other likeminded companies.” Mark McMenamin, Interior Design Magazine

The first of three commercial projects in the Pacific Northwest, Urban Union displays BAMO’s hotel design experience and interior architecture expertise within an office environment that is cutting-edge, hospitality-driven, and engaging for its tenants and visitors. The signature blue cube welcomes visitors with its glowing street presence and offset angles. Designed as both a piece of art and unique entry experience, the intent was to create an environment in which the color, light, and form of sculptural glass works in harmony with the architecture. Enhancing the soft warm, welcoming glow from the inside-out is a sculptural wood wall, made from reclaimed American White Oak sourced from an old train trestle bridge in Missouri. This modern sculptural feature anchors the space and spans out like the canopy of a tree over the Lobby & Great Room. Below, the stone floor reflects the dynamic form of the wood, culminating in an infinity edge, stepping stone water feature.
