DAVID MOULTON

David Moulton is a co-founder and Managing Principal of BAMO.  With over 40 years in architecture and interior design, David’s wealth of experience, design talent, and business acumen have helped establish BAMO as one of the world’s preeminent interior design firms.

A native of California, David grew up in Pasadena and moved north to attend the University of California at Santa Cruz.  Following graduation from the University of California at Berkeley and two years’ work in small architectural firms, he joined the San Francisco office of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM).  During his 14 year tenure at SOM, David became an Associate Partner and was responsible for major architectural commissions including 345 California Street in San Francisco and Southeast Bank in Miami.  It was at SOM that he first worked with Pamela Babey and Charles Pfister, who later formed The Pfister Partnership.

In 1987 David joined The Pfister Partnership, launching the London office as its Director of Design.  He returned to San Francisco in 1989, managing several high-profile commercial projects.  In 1991 David co-founded BAMO with Pfister colleagues Pamela Babey, Gerry Jue, and Michael Booth.

David has directed many of BAMO’s high profile commissions, acting as Consulting Principal for the ultra luxury Grand Hotel a Villa Feltrinelli in Italy and The Peninsula Chicago, and as Principal-in-Charge for various commercial and hospitality projects.  David’s clients include The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Fours Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Peninsula Hotels, Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, as well as a number of private clients.

As BAMO’s Managing Principal, David oversees all operational, management and personnel activities.  Under his business stewardship, BAMO remains at the forefront of luxury interior design.

David earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from University of California at Berkeley.  He is a registered Architect in the States of California, Illinois, Massachusetts and Hawaii, and is a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.  In 2010 David and his fellow BAMO co-founders were inducted into Hospitality Design magazine’s Platinum Circle.
