Intermediate Designer

The Intermediate Designer will work directly with the project team leaders and will focus on assuming responsibility of the design and documentation of interior design projects. He/She will begin to take responsibility for designing, directing and coordinating high-end hospitality and residential projects with direction and oversight. The Intermediate Designer’s role will vary depending on the nature and size of the projects.



  • Assist, collaborate and initiate ideas with the project team in the design process (developing ideas, bringing ideas to the table) and in the production of interior architectural design and construction documents on a variety of project types including hotel, restaurant, residential, and commercial office interiors
  • Assist and collaborate with the project team in producing presentation materials and in presenting designs to clients and other consultants
  • Assist and collaborate with the project team in conducting construction-phase activities including shop drawing review, requests for information, drawing and document updates, project record-keeping
  • Interacting with various consultants on projects
  • Developing interior design resources (vendors, professional sources)

Job Requirements

  • College-level degree required (architecture, interior design or related field)
  • Min. 4 years experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience required in sourcing and documenting FF&E design and/or selection & documentation of interior architectural finishes
  • Experience with AutoCAD both in 2D and 3D, InDesign, Sketch Up, Illustrator, Photoshop, and hand sketching
  • Must be productive, flexible, and team-oriented
  • Must be detail oriented and thorough
  • Must meet deadlines and ensure accuracy of all work produced
  • Must be willing to take initiative and ownership of all tasks on projects
  • Demonstration of three-dimensional design and planning skills
  • Have an understanding of construction, materials and methods
  • Must have skills in three-dimensional computer rendering
